The DESY Summer Student Program 2026 is now open for applications. This fully funded 8-week summer research program is designed for Bachelor’s and Master’s students worldwide. Every year, DESY selects around 100 students to receive hands-on research training at one of Europe’s leading international laboratories. The DESY Summer Student Program 2026 will take place from 21 July to 10 September 2026. No application fee or IELTS is required.
Selected participants will conduct research in physics, computing, engineering, or related fields at DESY’s laboratories in Hamburg or Zeuthen (near Berlin). Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the DESY Summer Student Program 2026, applicants must meet the following:
- Final-year undergraduate or first-year Master’s student by summer 2026
- Completed at least three years of undergraduate studies in physics, computing, or a natural science
- Students who have completed a Master’s degree by summer 2026 are not eligible
- Students currently enrolled in a Master’s program may apply
- Must not have participated in any previous DESY Summer Program
