The UNESCO Internship Program 2026 is now accepting applications. This international internship allows students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience with UNESCO’s work, global projects, and organizational processes. Applicants from any country can apply, and IELTS is not required.
Internships take place at UNESCO Headquarters, field offices, and UNESCO institutes. The internship duration is up to six months. More details are provided below.

Eligibility Criteria for UNESCO Internship Program 2026
At the time of submitting your application:
- Students currently enrolled can apply.
- Recent graduates (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) can also apply.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Must have strong English communication skills.
- Must have good computer knowledge (MS Office and related tools).
- Should be able to work effectively in a team within an international environment.
Important:
- Students who have completed their Bachelor’s degree but are NOT enrolled in a Master’s program are not eligible.
Medical Insurance
UNESCO provides limited insurance coverage (up to USD 30,000) during the internship period.
What UNESCO Does NOT Cover
The following expenses must be covered by the intern:
- Visa costs
- Travel expenses
- Accommodation and living costs
Leave Policy of UNESCO Internship Program 2026
Interns receive 2.5 days of leave per month during their internship.
