The applications are now open for the LPI Summer Internship 2026, a prestigious fully funded program hosted by the Lunar and Planetary Institute. Location of the Internship
Interns will be placed at the Lunar and Planetary Institute or the NASA Johnson Space Center located in Houston Texas. Both research environments offer access to advanced laboratories and professional mentorship throughout the LPI Summer Internship 2026.
Financial Benefits
Selected interns will receive a total financial support amount of 13351 USD. This funding covers:
- Airfare Tickets
- Stipend
- Housing expenses paid directly to the vendor
- Living expenses
Interns who successfully complete the program and meet all requirements will also receive an additional 1500 USD bonus allowance.

Preferred Fields of Study
Students with academic backgrounds in Physical Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics are preferred. However, all eligible students with interest in planetary science may apply for the LPI Summer Internship 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to applicants from all countries
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 50 semester hours of credit
- Open to US citizens and international students
- IELTS is not required

LPI Internship Requirements

- Submission of at least two reference letters with a maximum of three
